Festival Organiser

Just a note to say thank you very much indeed for the terrific poetry event last Wednesday. I marvel at your skills in keeping the children on track so that they are all involved and motivated to write.

Barbara Ray, Thornbury Arts Festival

We had a great night at the Temptation Slam and really enjoyed the event.

Sarah Ellis, Assistant to Director, Apples & Snakes, London

The Poetry Slam deliver very, very professional, smooth running poetry slams. Exciting. Hot. The Poetry Slam's slams turn on new audiences to poetry. The spectators are utterly involved from start to finish and always call out for more.

Colin Brown, Director, Bristol Poetry Festival

Just to re-thank you for all the hard work you did to make the poetry such a big success at Fuse. I think you've inspired a lot of people in Lichfield and I think many of us will have something we'll remember for the rest of our lives.
Long live Slam Poetry!

Tim Perks, Festival Director, Fuse Festival, Lichfield
Adult Slammer

And today I want to say
What you have done for me.
You have opened doors, helped me to see poetry differently.
Not grumpy stuffy noses in dusty old books
With faces that look like they've had enough
But body's souls, hearts and minds, alive and thriving on the stage
Walking the razors edge for your love.

Julian Ramsay-Wade, Adult Slammer after 10 Year Poetry Slam 2004

Bristol Poetry Slam was the perfect crucible for so many of us to find our feet, voices and hearts. And that is entirely due to the professionalism and care you both put into it. You showed me how to be a poet.

Polly Moyer, Adult Slammer, Bristol

THANKYOU for a brilliant night a few weeks ago at the Old Vic. I loved it and so did my mates who would never have dreamt of going to a poetry event, let alone enjoying it! The guest poets were great and the fruits from your work in schools was inspiring!

Nigel Pearce, Bristol

This was very enriching for the students. Obvious movement made in the pupils' confidence and performance skills. Very simple to accommodate in school as all the organisation was done for us. Next year, please!

Toni Stokes, Tamarside Community College, Plymouth

Thank you so very much for all your hard work, time and encouragement of the children at St. Nicholas Juniors - not just the fabulous little team of winners, but also the other children you encouraged and inspired with your brilliant approach to poetry writing and performance.

Stephanie Douglas, Literacy Co-ordinator, St Nicholas Junior School, Radstock

The girls have gained tremendously from your inspiration, what they saw each other do and how they as individuals rose to the challenge - not least as a finale to a week of poetry competitions across the school.

Fiona Donaldson, Arts Week Organiser, Bruton School

I've learned to read with more "umph!" to do more actions and to speak more clearly while reading.

Emilie Giotti, Hayesfield School, Bath

We are so happy that you came to our school and taught us how to improve our poetry. We were really happy when we got in the Bristol Old Vic. Can we come back for another one?
